I'm having trouble downloading vB from the members area. It's worked fine for me in the past!

When I click on the link to download, I get an empty vbulletin.zip file.

Any ideas?

Disable Norton Anti-Virus.

ah, thanks :)

There should probably be a note about that on the download page?

It depends on your settings. I run Norton Anti-Virus and have never had a problem with downloading.

I think he meant to say... Norton Internet Security...

I know I have to do that everytime I download from the member's area.

I've tried to phone up Symantec regarding this but I usually get passed between departments. Support, Development and then back to Customer Services and neither have a clue about it.

well I really don't mind now that I know, but I thought it might be helpful for other members.

I have Norton Internet Security 2003 installed and when it was running, the members area didn't work - but as soon as I disabled it, it worked fine.

Have a look at these two FAQs from Symantec for information;
What to do when creating scripts and Norton AntiVirus Script Blocking is enabled (http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/aab56492973adccd8825694500552355/fa999a879aac3b2f88256b450071c66e?OpenDocument)
Web server stops responding when serving .asp pages if Script Blocking is enabled (http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/b69c799adfa31ecc85256aa30052f4d0/151ac4c8275f9a0888256a16006afce6?OpenDocument)

Neither of those are relevant.

The first is regarding Client script and the second is regarding scripts not fully executing when Norton is installed on the server.

Thanks for looking anyway.

I'll make phoning up Symantec again one of my tasks for tommorow.
