Don't know wher eto put this so..

every time a new posts is made, it goes into the index right? WHat is the point of reindexing unless you change the max/min number of letters?

I have had several forums where the search seemed to be 'off' and where the search table became corrupt.

You can clear index, and then reindex.

If your forum is like 5 years old, you could also clean up and make sure old obsolete posts don't show up anymore by clearing search index and reindexing from thread x up.

Reason why i ask is WHT just reindexed and took around 7 hours, and now the index is off alot.

It could be many reasons why it seems to be off, the owner has the details, and if he wants help, he can ask :)

To you; maybe he didn't turn off the forum when he re-indexed, or quit halfway through, or whatever else.

He did shut down the searchs, well i'm done, don't want to seem like i'm trying to help
