Hi all,
So, here goes attempt number three. Scott and Freddie worked on the problems. Let's see if polls work now.
Again, please look at all the boards before you vote and have a blast!:)

Voting guide lines
1. This month only 5 nominees are up for voting.
2. The person voting may judge a board on his or her own personal criteria. So what makes a board worth voting for, is up to each individual voter. Comments as to why or why not a person votes for a board are welcome as long as the comments are constructive in nature.
3. A board could be disqualified or lose votes when:
- the owner or any other person rallies for votes. This does not include mentioning just the fact that the board is in the contest. You may also point out "features" in this thread.
- the owner or any other person adds more than three users to their "Admins" list in the Member's area. Be aware that the userids are saved with the poll votes and these userids can be bumped up against the "admins" list that vb.com has on record. That means this type of cheating can be caught, so don't even think about doing it.
- the style of the board is changed sometime during the month of voting. The board's style must stay the same throughout the month.
4. Do not post accusations of cheating or immoral conduct. Anyone who has a grief should send me a PM.
5. As a last request: Please write only positive comments. If you must write something negative please add a suggestion on how what you don't like may be improved. Thanks.
If you have any more opinions/ ideas for other guidelines or opinions on these guidelines, please feel free to post them.

vBulletin of the Month for May 2003
Thank you to all of those who nominated and seconded Final Fantasy Republic into the final 5 for May 2003. It's a true honor to have run against Yaxay and F2 in which are both great organizations.
I'll take it upon myself to be thankful no matter what the outcome.

dunno why, but i'm drawn to Forum-Forum... possibly because the category headers are using the graphic style of my old GamersLive style... ;) But anyway, my goes to Forum-Forum... normally i'd do yaxay, but for some reason I don't feel like it haha :p

Well thank you everyone for giving the little guy a chance. Being the underdog is rough at times :)
I appreciate all your votes thus far, and I would like to say once again Forum-Forum goes up against some very stiff competition, last time we ran we got beat out by vbulletin.org.
I am honored to be running against such fantastic forums this month!

i think that you have to look at it for what it is... yaxay is a graphics community...anyone who's serious about graphics is NOT going to be on a slow connection... in fact, most graphic artists are going to have PC's almost equivalent to that of a hardcore PC gamer...and by that I mean it's going to be a pretty damn good and fast system not on a weak connection...

If you have won a vbotm you must wait a year again to run in vbotm... ffr and yaxay have both waited a year to run again and both have new designs so saying that... thats why I believe we they should both be able to run again.

Yes, over a year ago, with a older design. We have added so much to the board, and features to yaxay itself, i don't see why not *shrugs*
I had though you weren't suposed to put a board down in this kind of posts, but it appears i was wrong.
Good luck to everyone. Everyone. Each board has its own pros and cons. I suppose in the end its all down to personal preference.

I`m not putting down the boards. I remember I voted for both yaxay and ffrepublic back in the days. And i know the rules, it`s them I just would like to question a bit. I think the nature of this competition is that people click on to the award page to look at all the sites and get inspiration. It doesn`t matter when they got the award, because it`s evident that the design changes over time.
I`m not going haywire over this, allthough it might seem like it ;)

Someone saying they don't see why a board should run again after winning is not a put-down.
No need to be so defensive -- That's how these threads end up spiralling down into bicker-fests.
On that note, I vote for forum-forum because it hasn't won yet. :D

Great integration there, with many useful features added, and just overall a great community.:) I especially like how everything there goes with a relevent theme -- all the graphics work together, and the focus of the forum is immediately apparent.

My vote goes to forum-forum.com.
Its a well thought out community board and the best of its topic that Ive seen if not pretty much the only one. A couple of cool skins, and some prominent members and staff, it just seems to be well rounded and active. You actually get something out of posting there. Yaxay was close to it, but its a bit old and big its a little lost in itself at times.

forum-forum.com... how many times can i site win?/ how do sites get nominated?Hi donBLACK,
A site can win once a year. Around every 15th of every month I start a thread for nominations for the next month. You can nominate your board at that time but it must be seconded to get into the draw. If your board is in the draw it must be pulled with 4 other sites to get into the poll. June's nominations have already been selected. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=71583) You can try to nominate your board on June 15th for July.

Thanks for the votes and support everyone! I am very pleased, and proud to have done this well thus far.
It's not over yet and I realize that, so I wont say anymore.
I would just like to say weve been having some very serious problems the past 24 hours.
Our host moved us to a new server, because the old one was going crazy with server loads. The move went very...roughly, and we lost some posts due to outdated backups etc.
As if things couldnt get any worse, our datacentre NAC caught on fire in the same day! Luckily our server didnt melt, but we experienced serious outages, and with the combination of the quarky server move, we have just been going through hell!
Lucky I have a great team to back me up and help in times of need, I'd like to thank Richy, my other admin for fixing so many major and minor problems that have plagued us the last 24 hours. Without him, the forums would have definately lost some data, and most likely still be down! :) Mind you Richy managed to keep forum-forum up, repair and update the outdated database on our new server, and prevent the ensuing of total chaos. :)
Current Status as of GMT Standard time: 05/28/03 5:53AM SERVER DOWN.
Anyways, thanks again...and hope you all dont mind the quick update on our situation.
