Style critique (Navy)

This came about after Photoshop kept crashing my monitor and I was left with a style's images stuck in a very embryotic stage. But, somehow, like the ugly duckling, it grew on me.

Any thoughts? Is the banner irredeemably large? Are the colors too blinding?

looks great to me but i'm renouned for having no artistic flare at all :)

one thing though you might think about getting rid of the border round the header image so it's flush against the side... if you dont know this is in the body tag in style's...
