yet another reason why I don't really intend on switching to vb3 for quite some time. Not to mention I'm not all that impressed with it at the moment and see no major reason to upgrade to it.

Thats not a bad looking forum you got!

But... with all the forum coated in images it takes rather a long time for it to fully load, and then when people start posting images in posts... :D even longer waiting time.

Does that not smack your bandwidth up mega fast :confused: even though it mite not matter to you, just woundered what kind of system load it you get :o otherwise very impressive forum, i like. :)

lmao. More original? You know Arkham you say we look like every other site out there, so once again I'd like to see some of these sites, as I consider WiredGamers to be VERY original in design. I have yet to see anything else like it, especially along the lines of postbit and overall customization.

:rolleyes: Look at any yaxay-inspired, orange and grey and blue, over-Photoshopped vBulletin. That look is still way too common. I never said your forum sux0rs or anything--on its own it's fantastic--but it'd be nice to see something different for a change.

Anyway, besides the well-executed graphics, I think it's important to not let the graphics discussion hog the thread - afterall, the forum is more than just the glitz. The coding is excellent and the layout is really well done. Kudos to the others behind the forum (Xelation?) on the hard work.

You've got the makings of a good game forum - now go promote the hell out of it and develop the community up to the same standard as your graphics. Try to work on building up that Special Thing that sets your site apart from the others though, there are tonnes of game forums out there.

yes, we only recently launched (4-5 days ago), but I'm tired of hearing everyone relate every little single thing (yes, even COLOR) to yaxay, as if yaxay owns them. For a community that has only launched less than a week ago with no advertising directly from us I think we're doing rather well :)

Well, if you keep hearing similar comments from a variety of sources there may be some validity in what they're saying. Don't take it so personally and get uberdefensive, just take into consideration that while you have a visually-striking graphics style, it is part of a popular visual trend these days. It's not easy finding your own style, but you're off to a good start. I'd dare say it's one of the best examples out there.

I wasn't referring to such comments in relation to WiredGamers. I've actually honly heard "you look like yaxay" twice (including yourself) out of many. So, for now I see very little validity :)

i fail 2 c any simiralities 2 yaxay, the colors may be slightly the same but it looks totally different, i cant believe colors make ppl think it is like yaxay.

Yah, colors really shouldnt play a factor when comparing skins to other skins...

would you say my skin is un-origional because it uses orange? I mean ive seen plenty of other skins that use orange as well?

I see where youre going Arkham, and honestly its hard to be completely origional these days, everyone's used these colors, or "over-photoshoped" graphics...Thats the STYLE of what we consider "good" forum skins...lots of photoshop, lots of drop shadows, lots of graphics period. I really dont think its fair to call people un-origional when theyve worked so hard and produced a completely unique skin...besides the color combination. Just my opinion.

Criticism is good yes, when its constructive and doesnt put people's work down.

He wasn't tearing work down, to him, it looks like all those other overgraphiced boards, and to others, this is how they hope vbulletin looks like when they install it for the first time, and i also have my oppinions, having a war about it, just sucks. Expect remarks and comments if you open a thread like this.

I think it sucks, the design is nice, especially for screenshots, but dude, it is a forum, you have to browse it, the graphics take a few seconds per page to load and build up the complete design and align things out, and what do i have to do? Yes, read all across the screen to find out it is just a 2 line message .. its a forum, you shouldn't have to wait 5 hours to read 1 word. That is what I think. If you don't like that, so be it. You make it how you want it, and I experience it how I surf it.

I think most of the regular forum readers know that from previous threads on "The Ravio Look". Whenever anyone posts a comment on The Look that is undrenched by drool, the usual suspects are immediately there to pounce on The Unbelievers. ;)
