I'm having trouble with users who are banned just creating a new profile for themselves so I think it is about time I went to email verificiation, can anyone give me advise of the best way to achieve this.
Obviously I would have to exclude certain addresses eg. hotmail, yahoo, etc. Does anyone have a list of the ones they use? Also I heard that doing that can exclude existing users with these types of address and I certainly don't want to do that!!
Many thanks in advance for your help.

if you ban e-mail addresses by domain (hotmail, etc) it will kill all privs for your existing users.
About the only way I know to pull it off is give your users 1 week or so notice that they must change their e-mail address away from a free acount because of the problems you've been having. Apologize profusely, but explain to them that you're doing it because of banned users changing their email addy easily and rergistering to cause more probs.
If you're not in the habit of spamming your users, only the ones that normally grumble when something changes will grumble.

Is there no way to hack things so that this check only takes place at the registration stage?
Any other tips for banning a specific user, I know he uses one machine but dynamic IP.

If his dynamic IP is within a range and not a real populare IP (small ISP) then just ban the whole range..

Unfortunately even a search on one of his ip's brings up about half the board members. :(. They are not all him!
