I find hundreds of this mailings in file called "dead.letter" in my directory. Some Webmaster-Errors are going in my mail-client and some are in this dead-letter.
Do you know why?

Well..
a) it can't get connected to your MySQL server
b) sendmail seems to just chuck a bunch of the mails. But you say you're getting some...

Yes.
The content (mysql-connection) of this error-mailings is ok. (Not good but right)
But some of this mailing going through and some has this error.
perhaps missing or malformed recipient(s)
Could it be, that some kind of error mailings has no the right recipient?

Actually, I'm a moron. Those are going to dead.letter because they're not actually being sent to anyone since it can't get the technical email address correctly.

Idiot, Stupid, etc.
The technical addess is stored in the db (for now). If you can't connect to the db, how can you get the email address?

Edit options.php and remove the cell that contains the technical email (make sure you know the variable name it's inserted to!), update your options so the technical email gets killed, then add the variable to your config.php.
Or wait until 2.0.
