Hi everyone,
I'm now running a forum at http://www.offstone.com/photo using discusware ( avail from http://www.discusware.com)
it is already running on MySQL. I wish to migrate over to vbulletin software.
any idea how i can migrate my users' data over to the vbulletin format?
so the current users will not have to sign up a new user account when i change to vbulletin
many thanks

Unfortunately we do not have an official import script for Discuss forums. You can try asking over at the hacking site:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/
If there isn't an unofficial one then you would need to either write it yourself or see if you can get someone at vbulletin.org to do this.

Hi,
i guess i'll write my own but i can use some hints from ya.
1. can u provide me with documentation on the way data fields are chosen/used for vbulletin?
2. if i just manually insert "usernames, passwords, email addresses, n' number of posts" (four data fields only) and set the rest to "null" or default values, will that work?
i don't need to import the messages, i just need to import the membership data.

i don't need to import the messages, i just need to import the membership data. Sorry, but the database schema is only currently available to licensed members. I'm sure if you go to vbulletin.org you can find someone that can help you convert this data.
