I have a copy of a board that is merging with mines database on my harddrive. Where and how do I upload that from my harddrive on my personal PC to my server?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking, but you need to make a backup of the database and upload that file to your server.

I have a copy of a database on my hard drive at home. I want to upload it to my server. How do I do that? And where does it go.

The copy of the database is in what form?

To upload files to your server you'd do this the same way you uploaded the original vB files. I assume you used an FTP program for this.

This is a seperate database then the one I currently have. I run a forum and another forum that went down gave me their database. They did a dump like the "moving servers" instructions listed. And gave me the dump. So now I want to upload their database. I will then have 2 databases.

Then just upload this database dump to your server just like you uploaded your vB files. What are you planning to do with the backup db?

I am going to run a script that I found on vbulletin.org to merge the two. The backup DB is from a forum that me and some members broke off from. Now that the admin would like to step down he and I came to an agreement that I should preserve his forum. So it is merging with mine. His board has 900+ members, mine currently has 200+. What is the directory I should upload the DB to. /forums?

I don't think the directory matters much since the script you plan to use will just need to know where it is so it can import the data. Since I don't know what the specific instructions are for this script, the best place to ask this question is on the appropriate thread at vbulletin.org.

In the thread it says it has to be a REAL database and not a dump. So I do have to upload it :(

Then after uploading it you need to restore it to a real and empty database.

Since this involves a hack, please post any further questions regarding it on the appropriate thread for this hack at vbulletin.org. :)

I know I am supposed to use a FTP program but I just don't know which directory the database comes to. Sorry I was not clear on that.

Please see my second quote above. The backup file goes to whatever directory you upload it to. It doesn't really matter since you said it needs to be a real database and as such you are going to need to restore it after you upload it.
