I am getting 2002 errors at random times during the day. Sometimes it does happen for a few days. But when it does my forum goes down for 10 mins to an hour. Then magically it comes back up. Says "Link-ID == false, connect failed
mysql error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock'"
Which from what I understand means mysql was shut down. But then it comes back up? HELP!

I think it is then down too, contact your hosting provider and ask them to check some system logs and see what caused it. Did they upgrade their MySQL ? There is a remote DoS that could bring it down. Maybe someone is playing.

This error means either MySQL crashed, it's not running or it can't find the socket. You need to contact
your host about this. Here is more info on this error:

I'm taking it that they must be known for bad business :( Is that the case? I always find out about stuff like this late.
