It would make moderating a forum much easier if all post reports were sent to everyone who has moderating powers in that particular forum. Right now, if a moderator is specified for an individual forum, they will be the only ones to receive reports from that forum. That is good, of course, but what if that individual moderator is not able to access their email or don't have time to take care of an issue? Super Moderators, as they can moderate in any forum, should receive reports from every forum. And I, as Administrator of my forums, want to receive every reported post as well so that I can personally be aware of and take care of any problems if any of my moderators are unavailable. Please make this change in vB3 - it will make every forum's moderating team a lot more efficient!

Oh no it won't. Certainly not in a huge forum. If anything, there should be an on/off option. Because I know that if I got the many dozens of posts reported everyday in my forums, I would go crazy :p.

Yes, an option would be the "best option" for everyone. :p

Can we make it so these are not emailed.. but rather are shown on a seperate page for an admin. Would make thigns so much easier ;)

Awesome idea! I'd say that would also be handy for administrators of extremely large forums like Darth Cow, too.

I have removed the "Report this post" feature, and instead linked it to our support ticketing system. This effectively does what you are requesting.

I havent linked in the support member database to the forums member database yet, so it's really cut down on trivial complaints ;) but I do plan to...

We've been using the send reports as PMs hack, and its been quite useful (I also wrote an extension to allow reporting PMs, but since we send reports only through PMs for that, I haven't released it). We also have the code to create a post in a special part of the moderator lounge as well (we use it currently so that member that report rumors and news they've heard about our subject area that we can post on the main site)... we may possibly want to extend that to reported posts as well.

Definately though, a fully integrated moderation system would be great, with discussion threads for each member, notifications to mods when a report is recieved all linking to the same place (so someone can click a "Dealt with" button and no one else sees the report anymore), even suspensions for certain time periods and an easy way to notify admins that mods think a suspension is needed... never mind. This is getting really off track :p. These would be great, but, unfortunately, we can't honestly expect them before vBulletin 3.1 or 4. The reports going to admins and super mods, too part might be managed, however, I still think there is a feature freeze for now.
