[fixed] View New Posts Problem

I've only noticed this twice (well, i wasn't looking before so may just have missed the problem if it was happened before) but when i use the 'View New Posts' feature and there is more than 40 posts i get a problem with the number of new posts listed being wrong, and sometimes posts are displayed twice, or not at all..

For example, i just used the feature and first page said:
"Displaying Topics 1 to 40 of 51"
and then when i clicked on page 2 the following was displayed:

"Displaying Topics 41 to 53 of 53"

Now, i pressed refresh to make sure a few posts hadn't just appeared and there weren't any new ones (went back to page one, then to page 2 again, just to double check the same numbers were listed at the top and they were), but what was happening from what i could tell:

The last 2 posts from the bottom of the first page were also being displayed at the top of the second page (they were the first 2).

The other problem i had was with (i think) 5 pages, and everything was fine up to the last page, which was blank even though, accroding to the numbers at top of the page, there should have been 2 posts displayed on it.

Is this a bug in vb3? Anyone else having a problem like this?

~Babylon Are you sure it isn't because someone didn't reply to another post and therefore move number 40 into the 41st position therefore you see it twice. That happens quite frequently on busy boards. The search is not cached and each page runs its own query so things like this happen.

We'll, that's what i originally thought, and that's why i went back to page 1 to double check (and refreshed it to make extra sure) and it said there were 51 new posts (showing 1 to 40) then went to the second page and again it said there were 53.

I'll let you know if the problem happens again (usually from my last check at night to the first check the next daythere is more than 1 page of new posts)

Ok, i used the "View new posts" feature again and their is definatly a problem, only it's more like the second one i described with the last page being blank. Here's what happened:

Page 1 said: Displaying Topics 1 to 40 of 81
Page 2 said: Displaying Topics 41 to 80 of 81
Page 3 said: Displaying Topics 81 to 81 of 81

Page 1 & 2 were fine, but page 3 (the last page) had no topics listed on it, but going by the numbers at the top of the page there should have been 1 topic listed. Update:I went back to check the new posts again and this time it said 'Displaying Topics 81 to 83 of 83' but again, the last page didn't have a topic listed on it.

Ok, i'm pretty sure this isn't just me and is definatly a bug somewhere in the 'View New posts' feature.

I tested it again today, 70 new posts. First page had 40 topis on it (displaying topics 1 to 40) but the second page only had 28 topics even though the title said "displaying topics 41 to 70 of 70" which means there should have been 30.

Can any of the developers confirm this? Again i had a problem with "Displaying Topics 1 to 36 of 36" being written at the top of the View New posts page, but after counting (3 times to make sure) i only saw 35.

I'm still having problems here... Today (haven't visted for a while) there were 170 new topics. The last page only had 5 while the title actually said "Displaying Topics 161 to 170 of 170"...

Can one of the developers please check this over...
