I hope this exact setup hasn't been asked about before - it's tough searching for this kind of thing...
I'm currently on a private server at remarkablehosting.com, and it works ok most of the time, but lately the slow downs and lock ups seem to be increasing.
My site usually has between 30 and 50 people online. I'd like to find a server that can handle up to 100.
The site does about 30 gigs of transfer per month. The vB database is about 550 megs (around 500,000 posts and 1200 users) and the site is maybe 100 on top of that. I'd probably want about 2 gigs so I have room to keep online backups of the database.
I currently get 5% of a Pentium 4 processor (I forget what speed) and 160 megs of RAM. I'm paying 50 bucks a month.
So in summary, I want to find a host that will let me have around 50 people online without choking. Is there any way that I can find this for under 100 bucks a month?
