Looking for a new host, our current gem of a host isn't apparently competent enough to deal with serving only one forum. We require freedom of speech (nothing illegal will be discussed) and the basics, FTP, hopefully full pop3 mail access, phpMyAdmin access, etc.

For free speech HavenCo (http://www.havenco.com/) is probably the best you can get, but you'll have to sell your soul to the devil to pay their rates :(

Any host in America should be able to help you there (it's kinda like a law, y'know), unless you're posting "Adult Content" in which case some hosts may not allow on shared servers because of resources. But usually, they all allow you to host whatever you want on a dedicated server.

Most I've come across actually don't, and the constitution doesn't apply to web hosting.

Uh, yeah, it does because it's on American soil.

However, their property, their rules.

What kind of content are you looking to host?

If it's on their server, which is their property, they don't have to respect the constitution or anything else they don't personally approve of. Racial.

I use www.escape.com

They are excellent and very reasonable. If you mention my name to them they’ll give you a great rate. I have 3 co-locations there. They have multiple T3s to their uplink. Tech support is great. Never on hold more then 2 mins.
