I run www.impulseownersgroup.com I know I am goign to run into some hosting problems. I am currently with www.vervehosting.com I have used over 27gig of bandwidth so far this month and get over 100k in hits everyday. 3.2 million so far this month. I dont want to spend a ton of cash on hosting because my site generates no cash for me. I was wondering if anyone has ever used http://www.powerwebspace.com They have 1000 mb of storeage and unlimited bandwidth for $5.95 a month. Are they reiable how hard is it to switch hosting companies? Here is a list of what the package offers, do I need anything else for my forums to work?

Sounds too good to be true, so it probably is.

Some issues with their terms vs their offer...

99.9% uptime guarantee
In their terms, however...
4.2 We shall have the right to suspend the Services at any time and for any reason, generally without notice, but if such suspension lasts or is to last for more than 7 days you will be notified of the reason.
Sounds like a hum-dinger of an out for them. This clause makes me nervous.

Unlimited email lists
The terms state: 2.3.3 you will not send bulk email whether opt-in or otherwise from our network.
I don't think their email list will be very functional, lol.

The biggest thing you should notice is:

2.3.4 you will not employ programs which consume excessive system resources, including but not limited to processor cycles and memory.

2.10 Our hosting is considered unlimited bandwidth because we do not meter it. However if one web site begins to take up an abundant amount of system resources (5%) then other hosting solutions will have to be found.

There goes your vBulletin forum. This is always how they get you.

Agreed, stay away from them.
Read www.unlimband.com or other sites about "unlimited bandwidth" scams.

Remarkable Hosting @ $89.95/month (Private Server Advanced)

http://www.remarkablehosting.com

You'll need it given your traffic.

Message tonight:
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later

I think I may have jinxed myself

At any rate I have used 30 gig of bandwidth

Thanks

Hi Larry,

I may help you in this case. I will need you to provide me with more details on this bandwidth issue first. Do you have a traffic report for me to look at? Will you need, in the near future, more than 30GB of transfer?

But, since you are not generating any income from your site and that we are doing "Online Business Mentoring", we could probably find a partnership agreement somewhere. Just a thought...

as far as that $5.95 deal, steer clear of that!

I do not use them anymore but Ventures Online has excellenet service and support.

For your spec, expect to pay around $90 - $150 for high quality bandwidth. Of course, you could get a cheap server from Every1's network and share with no one, add a little extra and you can join webreseller. Any higher quality go elsewhere...

Find out what 'you' want and the need for your service. Can you afford it? Then hunt around for a host. Setup a plan, a progress plan and how you intend to build your community.

The problem is actually not to find the right host, but to identify the <exact> need. This mean, if you 'demand' 50Gb of high quality transfer - the charge will come there after.

You have used 27GB as described above, does the forum have any income? Any community donation? Pay it yourself?

Lay out some strategy, instead of jumping to one host to another. Invest correctly and you will never have to move!
