Custom fields question...

How are they handled through the control panel? Are you allowed to specify what kind of field it is? So that if it's a dropdownlist, the right option value is default selected when modifying your profile...The same with a checkbox or radiobutton..

No they are just standard text boxes as of now. You can specify the field to be required at registration and can specify it to be hidden from everyone except admin/mods. You will probably need to wait for an incremental update of v2.0 to get custom profile fields that can consist of radio/check boxes and drop down lists.
