command for backing up database

I have vBulletin 2.2.7. And my webhosting does NOT allow "telnet" access, so all my backing up from admin or phpMyAdmin are corrupted.

I just installed MySQL on my computer, so what are the commands for backing up my database using MySQL from my computer, to backup my forum's vB?

Uh, installing MySQL on your own machine won't help things :confused:

Does your host have SSH access instead? Telnet access is rare because it is insecure, but SSH by definition is secure. :)

No SSH or telnet access. Sucks ! They say they don't use them for security reasons (but i doubt that).

installing mysql on your own pc will only backup what mysql databases are running on your own pc.. you can't backup databases that are on your host from your own pc's mysql install
