I have everything setup... PHP 4.2.3, MySQL 3.23.52 installed and running on a MS 2k Server w/ IIS 5.0.

The PHP test pages loads correctly and other PHP based pages run fine. But I get a database error when trying to loag indedex.php, , says:
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

I have a vBulletin databas created but do not know what else needs to be done on the MYSQL side, and I can not seem to find any 2k instrustions on the site...

Any help would be greatly appricated.

Ok, I found the admin/install.php file, but when I try to go on to the next step it never reloads the page. The address bar changes to install.php?step=2 but does nothing. And if you click on the link to go on to the next step is does the same but the address doesn't change...?

I am totaly lost... Could theree be something wrong with the install.php file? I have not gotten any errors.

Thanx again.

Did you ever get these problems figured out?

Nope, went to phpBB instead due to the lack luster and ultra fast response that I got from here.

Make sure register_globals is enabled in your php.ini file.

This forum that you posted to is for general MySQL discussion. Yours seems to be an installation issue, if you had posted to the vB2 Installation forum (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=39) you probably would have gotten much more response to your questions. If you are still trying to get your vb to work make sure you post in that forum for help when you need it.

I was mainly interested in how things were going since I also use Win2k. What nuno mentioned about the register_globals sounds like it could help with the problems you had. I'm not very familiar with phpbb, I hope it works well for ya if you decide to stay with it.
