I've just opened up Vbulletin, and I realize that a lot of posts got deleted. Some forums are now left without a single thread, when in fact every forum had threads and posts. The posts which were deleted were from several different users. Please help!!!
Note: yesterday I went to the maintenence section and selected "update counters" and updated all of them, including "Remove dupe threads - (quite server intensive, but useful after importing posts)
Number of threads to do per cycle" which I don't even know what this means.
Here is a link to one of my forums (which had 3 threads and now it is empty: http://www.jumpondeals.com/forum/forumdisplay.php3?forumid=11
Please help me in figuring out how this happened.

The threads aren't being deleted - because they haven't been posted to for a while they aren't showing up - to make them show up, go to the "Show threads from" box at the topright of an empty forum and choose "All Threads".
You'll need to set that as a default in the Admin Area if you want that to be default - I can't remember where it is but i'll have a look in a minute for you.

JamesUs you made my day! Thank you so so much!!!
You were right the problem was exactly as you said.
Also please tell me where can I set that as a default in the Admin Area?
Again, thank you so much!

actually, each user sets their preference in their profile. there isn't a switch to change it for all forums, each forum has it's own setting which you can access in the "Forums" "Modify" section of the control panel.

I saw on some other Vbulletin forums that even when "show threads" is set by default to show only a certain amount of days. You would still be able to navigate on the bottom of the page past that date.
How can I possibly do that?

I think for that you'd need to set it for each individual forum as Martin said - goto the Modify Forums section of the control panel and goto the properties of a forum. Once there, you should find an option to change the default view age. Then if there are a lot of threads they will be on different pages.

JamesUs thanks for answering, I did go in over there, and I do see the option to set the default amount of days to be visible.
What My question in the last post was, is it possible that even if the default is set to i.e. "yesterday". The page navigation numbers should still be able to display the posts of 2 days ago, even without the user changing the "show threads" thing?

Right now my default is set to "Last 60 days" because I just opened, and I don't have too many posts yet. Of course I'm waiting for them to start flowing in :)

each user can set it to whatever they want in their profile, plus if they want to show more than the preset amount, there is a drodown at the top of ever forum page that lets them change it temporarily...
