While I understand version 2.2.7 was considered to be final, I noticed that a few bugs have been reported and fixed since then. Is there any plan for a 2.2.8 or are we going to focus all resources to vB3?

Awww.... I was really hoping 2.2.7 would be a final. I wanted to do one more upgrade and then be done with everything. I know I don't have to upgrade and someone will say that, but it would've been nice. Yet I'd rather not have a buggy board so I guess it's necessary.

2.2.8 will not be necessary if you are going to run vBulletin 3. You will most likely have the choice of upgrading to vB 3 (beta) or 2.2.8.

Okay *thoughtfully and nonchalantly* When will 2.2.8 be released? :D

Slight correction there, the upgrade script will require you to be running the latest version of vB 2.2.x . However, when it comes to upgrading to vB 3, it should just be a matter of running the upgrade script to get you up to 2.2.x latest, then running the vB3 upgrade script.

Yup, me too. :) All working a-okay at the moment. Hopefully the RC and gold versions will be the same. ;)

I just got the 2.2.7 version installed 3 days ago, and I had to bug my server to do it as Im not terribly bright about these things. My question is... what will happen if I dont do this upgrade? By next year will my board still work? Of will it be toast?
While Im here, how come the link to the Manual isnt there anymore, or am I losin it somehow.

2.2.8 is an easy upgrade just like the others and fixes several important potential security issues.
I can still access the manual (http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/)

I think the issue now is about a 2.2.9, then ;)

I`m very satisfied with the features in vB 2, so I`m just going to pay for upgrade to get the last 2.x version.
Anyway, I just want to know when you think 2.x will be final? Or is that a impossible question?
Thanks

It's somewhat impossible since new versions of PHP may compromise the stability of the code (you've seen the problems with the latest version).
