Newbie question

We are just in the process of changing from our old UBB board to VBulletin, and after a little bit of fiddling in the STYLES section, I have one very dumb question.

How do we upload buttons that we want to replace in the present style (ex: user cp, register, post reply, post topic, email, on.gif, off.gif, etc....) from the admin section?

Can we just upload these .gifs and .jpgs by themselves or do they have to be part of a "template" or "style" upload?

Also, WHERE exactly do we upload the files so that they override the present buttons? :confused:

Have a look in the header, there are the links to the buttons with path and filename, so you can change it to what ever you want.

Default location is ="{imagesfolder}/top_<name>.gif

Steps:
STyles -> Modify -> <chosse one> -> fonts/colors/etc -> Header
