Has anybody made an import utility to transfer the posts and members from BoardPower to vBulletin?
I really need it.
Thanks

don't look for any more import utilities until after 2.0 is in a stable release unless someone decides to hack it in. after 2.0 is stable I would imagine more BB's are going to be added to the import process, starting with the most popular and working downward.

Martin,
Board Power is #1 on your list, right? :D
And if anyone's willing to spend a couple of hours making this script, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Thanx!

I am sure Phorum is one of the 1's.

:(
vBoard.co.uk,
well, first off, I don't feel comfortable calling you a domain name, so can you tell me ur name? I'm Igor.
Happy New Year, BTW :D

Right now, I can not go over the hill I face since I want to switch to vB but can't because I have Board Power, and I don't want to lose any information that's already posted there. Do you think you can be my hero of the 21st century by making this naughty script? I'm sure it's not going to take long ;)

Thanks.

Hi John,
ok I will.
But I'm like really dying because I'm using the stupid Board Power. So, if you can, please try to talk some guys into doing it as soon as possible.
That would be awesome.

My question is who made the UBB Import feature so we can chase up that person and see if he can try to do it.

yeah!
he could probably make it in 10 minutes! :D
Do u want me to make a post asking that question ?
Or do you want to do it?

I am out of the question.
I think you should post a new thread about that.

you can ask and ask and ask but it will take a while. I also used boardpower and had to cut and paste all my posts in (luckily only about 3,000 then). hehe.. nasty work.

i'm a boardpower user... actually, scratch that, i'm an old bigtalker user. which version of boardpower are you talking about (is it the SQL version, or the flat-file version?)? i have a little experience with it. much more with bigtalker. i wrote up a couple of import scripts for bigtalker for vbulletin, but stopped a little short of finishing it because v2.0 is coming out. i do, however, plan to re-start work on it once v2.0 is out.

BTW: here's an example of a import data...

the orginal bigtalker:
http://baseballsimcentral.com/cgi-bin/bigtalker/bigtalker.cgi

and vbulletin after importing data:
http://baseballsimcentral.com/bboard/

so, in fact, i stopped working on the import scripts at about 90% completion... BTW: bigtalker was flat-file...and laid out VERY much like UBB.

That is so~ kewl Gwynar. :D
I have a flat-file version 2.04 PF.
Maybe it's really close to the Big Talker.
Do you think you could check?
Can you ICQ me at 83417350
or AIM me at tennisboy3453 ?
This is such great news to start off the 21st century!
I just can't afford to wait- the site will get a LOT more popular if I start using vB.

Thanks!
Happy New Year and Happy New Century everybody!
