It occureds to me today that it would be great if vbulletin allow some type of membership linking system. Where members of one vb board could register at another by simply loggin in.
The system would work like this.
1. member signs up a one Vb board.
2. member finds another vb board that is part of the friends network of the first board they joined.
3. member logs in to the second board without needing to register.
4. The seconmd board makes a call to the first board and requests all that members basic information(username, email, password, website) which then gets stored to the seconds boards database as well.
Second a member could post at one board in one forum and mark the post universal. Thus making it show up in the equivelent forums at the other boards onthe friends network. Good way to share messages between say "chit chat" forums for three different boards.
This whole concept is different then running multiple boards off one database. (i.e. ezboard style) Instead it's about multiple databases sharing pieces of information. A way of tying multiple communities together.
