Adding memory at Rackshack

Has anyone negotiated with Rackshack to pay a flat fee to install an extra 512 MB (or so) in their dedicated RS server? Their services page only lists per-month payments for this option.

We haven't switched, but are considering doing so.

i believe they won't budge on pricing policy since they're already priced at such a low price

I tried to haggle, but eva's right. They use that to make up some of the money.

The reason they charge a monthly fee is that the more powerful you make the server, the more chance there is of you using the full amount of data transfer and the more you use, the less profit they make from you.

Since there is no discount to make a decision at first, we won't be adding memory right away. And since is the P4 is an improvement from where we are now, even 512 GB should be fine until we grow abit more than our 150 consec. forum users.

But thanks. I hope we don't regret a decision to switch.
