Which is the better host (taking uptime, quality of service, etc into consideration) between http://www.hostrocket.com and http://www.venturesonline.com?
Best regards,

VO. I've not used either but one of my clients switched from HR to VO because he was unhappy with HR.

VO has done me great for almost a year.. My site's growing, so virtual is slowing.. Time to move up to one of the new VTS's, I guess.. ;) Or maybe a dedicated if I can swing it financially..

Just joined VO 3 days ago
Some speed issues right now but Im sure they will sort it all out.
I have been pleased with the tech support so far so I would say give them a shot.
Cheers

Curious to know but I am having some trouble determining which plan to choose from. I am looking at the (Virtual hosting packages ) V350 plan which will give me 350mb webspace / 15gb bandwidth. Will this be enough to run a small-medium group running vbulletin? Any help/input would be useful!
Thanks!

It depends on what you mean by 'small-medium' group. How many users? How many posts per day? Will you allow file attachements and if so, do you expect a lot of them? How many users do you expect on your forums at one time - both on average and as the top amount?

I am only estimating around 2000 users and maybe around 500 posts a day. I am guessing that there would be 30 concurrent users and maybe 60 max.

That may be cutting it close. I suggest you ask VO which plan is suitable for a forum this size.

I would bet VO will 95% likely to say get a VPS1-2, when a V500 will run it ok too.

Ventures Online are outstanding for service. I love them. I don't work for them either. The Control Panel alone is top notch, queries to the helpdesk are resolved quickly, and only closed when you are completely satisfied. It's all just too good :)

I am probably too late...but HostRocket is the WORST web host I have ever used!

I can't say enough good things about Vo.
I can't say enough bad things about HR.

I've been using VO for about four months and have enever had a problem with them. Their help desk is very responsive. I am using a V500 account which suits me quite nicely. I have about five people online on average. My VO account is overkill for this kind of volume, but, I hope it picks up.

I have the V50 plan and have an average of 12 to 15 on at a time and it handles it easy.
I will only upgrade when I need it.
I think this plan will do me for quite some time, since I will probably only use 3 gig out of the 5 gig and so far im only using 10 meg out of the 50 for storage.
I can only see me upgrading one or two pages, no sense in spending a fortune on a non-money making hobby LOL

I am interested in VO to host my VB site, I want 3 or so domain names to point to the one site. Does VO allow this? I think the best package for me for the time being is V350.

I haven't used VO, but I've used HR, and that is enough for me to vote for Ventures Online. There are only two hosts I'd use now, and thats VO or the one I now use (remarkablehosting.com). I only went with Remarkable because I couldn't afford the VO service plan that my site required. If you can afford it, do it!

I am currently on VO and am very dissappointed. Speed issues and server load normally in the 20's ... once it reached 60. I don't think I've ever had a server load on VO under 7. On my old server, my server load used to be routinely around just 1 ... this is very frustrating. I'm on the v500 plan and the qbert server.
