Maybe this is a silly question, but why the NY/NJ area?

Actually, come to think of it - no good reason. I don't care if they're in Alaska as long as they have good service. I'd love to be able to telnet or RDP to the database server so I can make all the changes to the db myself.

My experience with ICDSoft (http://www.icdsoft.com/) has been very positive. They're in Hong Kong, but you say you wouldn't mind that they're not in the US.

Their web hosting costs only $5/month. Plus, if you register your domain with them, domain renewal is only $5/year.

The catch is that ICDSoft only provides 5 Gig bandwidth... extra bandwidth costs more. They do have gzip enabled, so you can squeeze more out of those 5 Gig. This makes ICDSoft an excellent choice for small boards, such as mine... but very large boards will not find their package to be cost-effective, I think.

I have close to 3,000 users. Thank you for your input though :D.

LOL... :D ... yeah, your board is way too "successful" to exist with ICDSoft. I'm glad to hear it. :)

BTW, in case anyone else is reading this and chooses to give ICDSoft a try... please ask them to put you on the server that provides SSH access! Otherwise, you won't have a way to backup your database. This was my mistake when I initially hosted with them.

The board isn't really mine. I just do admin stuff for http://vipguestlist.org :-)
