Moving Part of a Thread?

I havenet been able to find anything on this, so here goes. Some of my visitors start new topics within other threads. How can I move say the last 5 posts to a new thread? I'm sure others have done this. Do I have to edit the actual database?

For now, you have to edit the database. But v2 looks to have this functionality.
