I've just completed an install of vB and would like to know what apps are needed to modify the color schemes? I see mention og photoshop 6 & 7, psp, and vbutton. Are there any other apps that are being used that I need to be aware of?
Anyone know if it's possible to create smilies from skratch?

If you need an image to change, then you need an image manipulation program. PhotoShop is this. Paint Shop Pro is it too, but more focussed on creation of images. They both are almost equal. Anyway. You can use those to create or manipulate images. They are not required for vBulletin :) They are just tools that you could use to make images.
Yes, it is possible to create emoticons from scratch, because one lonely sunday, someone created them for the first time. Just open up photoshop, make a transparant new document with certain size and start creating. Either a banner, a image, a background picture, an emoticon, or whatever.. is all created in such programs. Ofcourse, you could also use other products like fireworks or illustrator or whatever is out there.
There are also some sites where they offer to make images for you, at a cost or for free, same with buttons and vBulletin styles. Just a matter of finding them.

What about an application like swish or flash? Lets say I have swish and I'm using it to create some images and effects for other pages on my site. I've also created a nice color scheme that I'd like to TRY to maintain thruout the rest of my site that uses 3 colors in a linear blend. Can I use these in vB? Can I upload these colors into vB somewhere? If so how?
Sorry to come across as being both simple and difficult but I really don't have a clue as to how to use any of these tools. I just have a conceot for my site that I'm trying to bring to life.
any response is appreciated.
