Portal Software...vB?

Is vBulletin a Portal sw? I see mention over portal sw on various sites and wonder as to its uses.

I'm notsure what a vBulletin Portal sw is but you can find a vBulletin Portal system at http://www.phpportals.com

vBulletin is NOT a portal, it's a forum system. But there are many unofficial protal additions such as the one listed above.

Thanks for the reply. I especially appreciate, is that right, the link to phpportal. I found exactly what I was looking for in the photopost software. Hopefully I'll be able to get that going after vB.

I guess my main question in regards to portal software was to know what it does. I see vb portal which is a portal sw that works with vbulletin. Can someone shed some light on this?
