User names and passwords removed

I have a passworded site, and want to add a board ,but before i consider this one can you please tell me weather it would be possable to have the user names and password removed from this board and the login names with which my users have already logged on with used instead.
Just disabling the password and user name system and having everybody log in as whoever they like is not an option.
I hope you understand what i mean.

If you are asking if you can replace vB'smembers and passwords with the one you already have then I would say no, unless you are using another forum that can be imported to vB.

I want my users to be able to post in the forum using the log in names they use to enter my site.. and not to have to log into the board..

Yes, but as I said unless you are using one of the forums in which we have import scripts this can't be done. You would have to hack in this capability or write a script to import this data into vB.
