ok, currently i am running ikonboard and i wanna change to vbulletin board but i have 1400 ish members and loads of posts so is there anyway to transfer the members and posts from ikon board to vbulletin. Also some of my members wnat to keep their post count and date joined so is there anyway of doing that successfully.

We're currently offering a set of scripts that will allow you to import posts, threads and users from the following programs: Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 5, Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2, Infopop UBBThreads 5.4 (formerly wwwthreads), vBulletin Lite, Infopop OpenTopic/UBB.x, Ikonboard 2, Ikonboard 3, phpBB2, DC Forum, and ezboard (posts only, not members for ezboard).

so if you're using Ikonboard 2 or 3 you can import over to vB... the import scripts are available in the Member's Area at http://www.vbulletin.com/members/ which is accessible to you once you purchase a vB license

whats the import scripts called

They are in a zip file with several import scripts. Each one has a different name. The IkonBoard scripts are called bbimport_ib2.php and bbimport_ib3.php.

That is a pretty big ikonboard you got! Can I have a look at it? (please give url?) Would be great :)
