If you buy a license to vBulletin, does that mean you can upload as many seperate boards as you want, as long as it's on the same domain? For instance, if you go to ecfan.com, there's multiple boards like this:

ecfan.com/boards
b2k2ya.ecfan.com/boards
idol.ecfan.com/boards

nosecretsfan.com/boards
avrilfan.net/forums
vanessafan.com/boards

Each board has a seperate set of members and categories and all.

So did he/she have to pay for EACH copy of it, or just ONE? Because I'd like to set up multiple boards, even if it's just on one domain like the 3 ecfan boards, and I always thought that you had to pay for each seperate board copy even if its on the same domain. But if not then I'm definitely gonna purchase vBulletin in the near future. :D

You can use one license on: one domain, one set of vB files, and one database. So if those boards are all using the same files and database then one license is all that's required. However if they truly have completely separate memberships then they are using separate databases and require separate licenses.

So it's possible to buy one license, and set it up so the boards are totally seperate but still use the same database? I posted those links so you could understand what I'm talking about, I'm not incredibly good at this computer stuff... is it possible that that site DID use one database, even for just the 3 ecfan.com boards?

I have no idea if those sites use one database or not. However the answer is 'no' you cannot use one license for boards that are 'totally' separate. They must have the same database and use the same set of vB files.

Using the first set of three links that you posted there, all three of those are connecting to separate databases and using separate sets of PHP files. Hence, three licences.

Just to explain that a bit better, I was able to tell that those boards were all separate installations by looking at the number of registered users on each board - they were all different so they couldn't be sharing a membership base, so they would have to be separate licences.
