After posting etc the page doesn't automatically forward you to the post or the forum and you must click on the link. Does anyone else have this problem?

The HTML looks ok, so I am not sure what this is. Can other people confirm this in other browser/OS configs, and if so, please post the HTML for the page.

Thanks,
John

OS Win98SE

Nescape 4.76: Redirection doesn't work and for some reason it doesn't want to post my code even with the xmp tags. To view the html I have just click here: http://216.74.68.223/temp.html

IE 5.5: Works just fine. :/ Fancy that!

This is very very odd...

for some reason it will redirect if the post is made within a thread but it can't as a page... I will try one more thing.

All right... Netscape users test this out.

First go to the link I made in the post above...
This is the code that I get after making a post in 2.0

Second go here
http://216.74.68.223/notredirecting.html
This is what that code renders. I always remain stuck in netscape but not in IE for some reason.

Third go here
http://www.vbulletin.com/v2demo/showthread.php?sessionhash=d5ab87b327de67d3724c365 85717337f&threadid=173

It redirects successfully for netscape and ie on my system.

Also I'm a bit uneasy about the sessions. Is there a way to test the forum without going through them?

maybe this has something to do with the stylesheets:

FONT-SIZE: 12px}

I believe after every declaration there should be a semicolon ( ; )

FONT-SIZE: 12px;}

Just guessing

!? Now it's redirecting!! What is going on?

I think it might have to do with mas*mind's comment, the sessions, or I'm going insane! It's like that dancing, singing frog!! No one else sees it but me! >.<

If it is the last style attribute in the list directly before the closing brace (}) then you do not need a semicolon delimeter.

You're sure? Netscape can be picky about those things...

I code to the W3C published recommendations. Those do not require a semicolon.

If Netscape requires a semi-colon then it is an issue with Netscape and their programs not vBulletin. But I would also prefer that vBulletin had the option to publish the CSS to an external file that can be included instead of sticking it in every generated page.

I would like to add that vB 1.1.4 doesn't include the ending semicolon either.

I am at work right now and I just posted a new thread on 2.0. The same symptom shows.

Now when I go ahead, copy the html, log back on then reload that page once more I am redirected.

I think either the way netscape handles sessions or the way the sessions are written in vb plays a part in this redirection problem. Also for some reason the same browser can handle different sessions other than your own. I'm not too sure why. This is all very odd to me and I hope it makes sense to one of you out there.

I've used both win98se and win95 on two different internet connections using netscape 4.76 and 4.7 with the SAME results.

*PLEASE* can people use netscape 4.7x and try it on their systems so as to confirm this problem?
Test it out by posting a new thread or reply. It should pop up.

It worked fine for me in Netscape 4.73.

*Is vexed*

Oy...okay I'm reformatting my system. It's been acting all kooky lately and I guess it could be the reason why it's not redirecting. Also I'm just going to give it the silver bullet and start from scratch. *grumbles and starts to back up files*

BTW sorry for this report. :/ I'll try again soon and thanks for being patient.

No probs. Just because it has not affected anyone else yet doesn't mean it won't affect anyone at all.
