1. vBulletin is said to be one of the most efficient softwares for large forums---but how large exactly? Can it handle 20,000 members with ease---or just maybe 5,000?

2. If anyone knows of a large VB forum---please tell me where I can go surf it, thanks.

I have 3200 members and 90,000 posts. I still concider my forum small / just starting out. Big to me is 10,000+ voluntary registered members and 1,000,000+ posts.

Well, thank you Steve and Joe! If 3,000 is "small" then I take it that 10,000 must be "normal"? So no trouble with 10,000 to 20,000, I take it!

I wanted to join the discussion linked by Steve---but do not qualify for posting in that forum, I guess because I haven't bought one yet....sheesh. Well anyway people there list a lot of sites, but few specific member numbers except:

a.) Flashkit.com with 200,000 members. Most of these probably are not active, but forced to sign up to join some kind of program. This is a large forum but no telling exactly what it is equivalent to.

b.) Moderator Me2Be claims her own forum has 20,000 members---but does not list the name or url of her forum---hmmmm, frustrating...

Anyway, it seems that 10,000 to 20,000 members is no problem for vBulletin. That is all I really need to know.

I just pulled up Me2Be's forum, current stats: Threads: 82,256, Posts: 2,073,977, Active Members: 31,560. Max online at once, 573

I dont think i can give you the URL, she likes to keep it private ;)
