I'm seeing a trend of "Vbulletin v2.2.6 ©Jelsoft LTD." on many boards.
http://www.yaxay.com/yack/
http://www.xelation.com/forum/
I know that c-prompt designed them both, and probably uses the same copyright for each board that he makes.
Is that what we are allowed to have? I would sure like to cut my huge long copyright notice in half if I can have what they have.
Can we get a definite answer as to what the minimum is?

I believe one of the mods said its not allowed a while ago.
The minimum is something like this:
Powered by: vBulletin Copyright © 2000-2002 Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.

What MUG posted is the minimum allowable copyright. The copyright years *must* be included.

If we have one that reads 2000, 2001, can we change it to 2000 - 2002?

Are copyright years more important than Jelsoft? :p
I was expecting for minimum allowable copyright Powered by: vBulletin, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited. :)

And yes - '2000, 2001' is ok because that was unfortunately what was included with 2.2.6.

Yes.
To clarify, the absolute minimum consists of the following:
- The word vBulletin
- The copyright symbol ( © )
- The years of copyright
- The name of the company (Jelsoft Enterprises Limited - no
abbreviations and no leaving out words)
vBulletin © 2000-2002 Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
In that order.

So I wonder how many times those sites will need to be told before they change it.

Most of these people just made an innocent change. I'm not sure anyone has specifically told those sites yet but when they are told they'll do the right thing. After all these aren't pirates we're talking about.

Was showing Steve that someone had, in fact, told Exelation to change his copyright.

Oh ok. I have it set on 30 (?) posts per page so the second page only contained the last 3 posts.
