Allow us to link display individual messages ?

It would be really great to be able to display individual messages.

For example, I would like to be able to display an individual message from a thread, without the obligation to display the entire thread with it.

This is very helpfull when for example you want to link a message in your site without showing the entire thread.

I agree with Benj, this would be a great feature; Also with a possible news-system in mind...VB can be anything :)

so long it is done carefully, i hate the way w3 links does this at http://www.gossamer-threads.com but agree it could be very useful to do be able to just do a link to index.php?postid=343

I don't see the problem with how w3t does it ?
Each message has its id and you can call it by a simple line in your browser. It uses the default design to produce an output.

Do you see a better way of doing it ?

i don't like how when you search or get email notifications it just displays 1 message.

But yes the ability to just shown 1 post when you specifically want to is a great idea.

Also it would be good to have a specific template for this feature, a template called individual_message_display that would let us design how an individual message would be displayed.
