Issue: Can't fully log in via login box on forumhome. Or when trying to Post a new thread

I'm only half logged in -
"Ed Sullivan" (me, obviously) is listed in the browsing members area.
But I can't access the user CP, and the forums are still locked. (like that, btw)

To note, my session hash changes at all the other URLs:

This appears to be a sessions problem. Do you have cookies turned on, and if so, what do the vbulletin cookies look like?

Also, are you surfing vbulletin.com or www.vbulletin.com?

Try the latter if you are on the former until cookies are fixed completely.

Got the same problem as Mike. Didn't have it yesterday, though.

I can see my name in the 'who's online' bit, but I'm not logged in in any way.

I tried it with and without the http://www., and I'm getting the same thing.

Yeah, I have cookies on (including save username).

The vbulletin.com and http://www.vbulletin.com look the same (except for the http://www.):

Unfortunately, those look like my cookies for this board. 37 is my id here, and the password is my encoded password here.

Oh, BTW, IE5.5 and Win98SE.

Ok, just tried it with Mozilla M18. And it's not even storing any cookies. Are they session cookies? Because quite often those don't show up in cookie lists.

They should be proper cookies, but obviously this is not working 100%. Could you try removing all your vBulletin.com cookies and see if that has any effect.

seeing similar myself:

I find myself in the online list, but myself am not logged in (asks me for my username/password on the bottom of index.php).

I cleared all cookies and tried using ns4, mozilla and ns6.

Alright, just discovered that IE stores its folder based cookies name@folder_name.txt instead of name@domain_name.txt

So here is my vbulletin.com/v2demo cookie:
