[Private messages] Sent items and mark all read

Ed, for the read stuff.... I remember john said once it would be pretty easy to have a mark all read feature (for all the forum)... with the cookie and session ?

Hmm... the best that's possible is just updating the lastvisit/lastactivity time to now. But you can't really control that on a forum-by-forum basis - It's all or nothing with the current cookie implementation.

Well it seems now private message DOES keep track of the message you read or not :) Check it you'll see.

Received a PM.
Went in my inbox and noticed the little envelopp of the PM indicated the new message.
I Read the message.

Then the enveloppe didn't showed it was a new message. This is great.

Now that I have read all my messages and that the envelopp got OFF, would it be possible to syncronize the private message light bulb (from the forum index) as read too ?

Right now it says I got 1 new message on the forum index, but when I get in my PM it shows no new message since I've read them all.

I would like and option in user prefs to either mark read by cookies and visit time, or by mark forum/all read.

http://www.ezboard.com as the mark read feature, it is nice that you can mark certain forums read and others leave to come back another time to read. With the current cookie time marking, if I visit and read one forum then I dont finish reading the other forums and come back later, my unread messages are marked read.
