Personally the thing I would like to see most is the control panel. Not bothered about the layout, but I would like to see how the whole thing fits together.

Mark,
I'll see if I can get a few screen shots of the control panel online later today.
All the best,

Ed, can you please explain the http header gzip option ?
Will it reduce bandwidth usage but slowdown performances ?
Does it affect server ressource usage ?
Thanks,
Benj

Benj,
The GZip option will reduce bandwidth by compressing html pages (for http 1.1 compliant browsers). This option will dramatically decrease page download time.
For more information, please visit:

Sounds great.
Could you tell me a way please to test if I have the required zlib on my system ? Is there any signal I could send or test I could do to see if I have it ?
Thanks,
Benj

Great idea on the load watch for *nix systems and since this is the suggestion forum, might I suggest an option be added to this feature that not only turns away users when the load is too high, but it also sends off a quick email to the admin address to alert you that your server is straining?

Yes I noticed that as well and thought it was a wonderful idea! (I was going to write a script to monitor the server load averages, but now I guess I don't need to :)) The option to email the admin is a good suggestion as well.

I've already written a monitoring script that is cronned every 15 minutes to check server load, and if it's too high, I get an email. I was just hoping I could have VB do it instead of cronning a perl script. ;)

When will there be a testable control-panel? It would be usefull if we can test that out and maybe track some bugs...
