Uhm, I am not sure if this is already suggested, but since search was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeallllly slow just now, I'd thought - Let's just ask.

Would it be possible to consider updating of thread ratings?

Currently when someone has already voted, they are prompted "Our records show that you have already rated this thread".

But I can understand situations, where a thread starts of as possibly really good, but after 100 post replies, it turned really bad. And that someone wants to reconsider their thread rate.

First time: Thank you for rating this thread a X.
Second time: (if the user has already rated: (i.e.) 4) Sorry, our records show that you have already rated this thread a 4
Second time: (if the user decides to reconsider his rate) Your rate has been updated. Thank you.
Additional option: (when user picks the - remove) Thank you, your rate has been removed.

I hope you understand what I mean. And, since this is a little suggestion for upcomming version, I hate to hear "There is a hack for this on vBulletin.org", because that is not what I am asking :)

Removal of a rating? Isn't that like casting your vote for Kier as head-honcho, then later chicken out? If it's cast, it's too late to take it back-Kier's ego would already be inflated. ;)

But I can also understand all those kiddies flaming and trolling users and boards and then smarten up a little bit, thinking "Uhm, maybe I shouldn't rate X's posts 1, that was stupid of me.". I like to give users a second chance. It was additional, not mandatory request :P

Uh, this is already in 2.2.x and has been for quite some time. Check the vBulletin Options in the Admin CP:

Change Votes?
Allow users to change their thread rating votes?

Big headache now, and still I can't find it.

So Far, I can only find: Allow thread ratings in this forum? .. I can't find any other option that lets me set " Users can change their thread rate".

This is where it is in 2.2.5 (and more than likely all 2.2.x versions)

Admin Panel -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Display Options -> Change votes ?
Then its just a case of yes or no
:)

yes, I know that.
But a vote isn't a thread rate is it ? and otherwise, change my topic to > rename VOTE to RATE :D

I like to point out that I see in perfect conditions between 20 and 25% of normal view, with glasses on. Thank you.

Ofcourse, you guys couldn't know that.

Nevertheless, thank you for pointing it out. I finally found it, even though I read the whole bloody page several times.

You're welcome, not for us mistakenly rubbing it in ever so slightly, I gather, but for the opportunity to point that out, perhaps?Ofcourse, you guys couldn't know that.True enough, now we do, tho. :)Nevertheless, thank you for pointing it out. There's such a thing as reading something so many times you become virtually blind to its contents, Ctrl-F (Find) might help you next time.

I know :) The great Control F, but I searched for 'Rate' and not for 'Rating' :)
