what happens now?

I just got done reformating our server and upgrading to Red Hat 7.0. I've never dealt with RPM's before, so please bear with me. My problem is, what happens now? I've got php running, but I have no idea what to do with mysql. I'm sure there is something I need to configure, right? Any files that need to be moved/copied/deleted/etc.? What commands do I use to start the mysql deamon and configure it's settings?

I'm a total newbie at configuring a mysql server. In fact, technically I'm not even a newbie yet because I haven't started ;).

Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Nevermind - finally got it working. I have no idea what I was or wasn't doing that was making it not work. Nonetheless, it's working properly now. Just installed vBLite as a test and it went in without a hitch.

I'll search through the other existing threads for tuning suggestions now :).
