In the 'Already suggested' thread, I see suggested features include password-protected private forums. This is a good idea, but I would also add the ability to create private forums only available to specified usergroups.
This features is included, but restricted to admin and mods only. Rather than having a forum displayed but inaccessible to thos without the password, I'd prefer setting a usergroup which can access it and have the forum invisible to others.
I'm the webmaster of a computer game developper website and would gladly use this feature to run a private beta-testing forum. Regular users would not even see the forum and beta-testers would be members of the 'beta-testers' usergroup so everyone know who they are.
So I like the first idea (pw protetion) but I clearly see a need for the other type of private forum I'm suggesting.
And as the feature already exists for mods and admins, I guess it wouldn't be very hard to modify it so it work with other usergroups as well.
