Why are version numbers in the footer of vBulletin sites?
I use an older version, with a few security risks. So, effectively, I'm advertising how to break into my site.
By removing the version number (I'm planning to upgrade to v2.2.6 anyway), am I breaking my terms and conditions with vBulletin?

You can remove the vB version number. The absolute minimum you must have is:

No, afaik you can get one updated file to fix the security issues:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45395
The rest are bugfixes and the compatibility with PHP 4.2.x,
please correct me if I'm wrong.

That is a quick patch that resolves some issues but it will not fix all the problems.
