Slicing One PSD into Multiple

if you have a PSD with a couple of icons on it and want to split it into three separate .PSD files, how would that be done? The goal is so that i can still work on each icon individually.

Have you tried it in ImageReady 3.0 ?

You would open a new file the same size as the current one.

Then from the layers box just drag and drop all layers you want into the new window.
