Is there a simple reason why importing all the members and forums and such...brings in the posts but when you click on the posts it says...no data? Document empty?

What server configuration (PHP/MySQL/webserver) and versions are you running? And which host are you using?

This problem has occured before, and I am trying to work out what is causing it.

Thanks for your assistance,
John

John, we're running Apache over Linux (site5.com for now...dids.com as of the weekend.) Our tech guy for site5 said that they've switched PHP versions because of the bugs in the version they were using, however, I don't have a version number. At any rate, we're going to do the switch this weekend of the servers, move the darned UBB over to dids.com and then mess with vBulletin once we're switched unless there's a compelling reason to not move the UBB over there. (Please tell me there's a compelling reason to NOT move the UBB, I'm looking for an excuse!) I'd be in HEAVEN if I could import the UBB data from the one domain into the VB on the other....is this possible?

Susan, you don't have to move the hole UBB to convert it.

the best thing to do would be to telnet into your site5 server and make a tarball of the member directories and the forum CGI files and .threads files and then FTP from site5 to your new server.

I pulled over about 80k posts and 2600 members and did the conversion in less than 3 hours. Of course I just FTP's straight to my server from the hosted site it's at now without compressing any of it...

Oh Martin, I wish I could! I'm a geek who doesn't know how to telnet. :( I guess I should learn how to do that, eh? I looked at the program in our new server's admin panel, but once I got the username and password in there, I was at a loss as to what to do. Okay...looking for a tutorial on telnet.

This is a problem with PHP on the site5 servers. If you want a fix, email me. It will be included in the next version.
