It would be great if v3 auto did a mysql dump automaticly every night (or how oftan you like, ie, user setable time so you can set it to do it every 12 hours, every week, whatever) and then gzip it (if it zips or not should also be settable in admin cp).
Then it could upload it to another FTP, email it to you, or store it somewhere on your server.
What also would be great if it timestamped the file and kept only a few dumps before it starts to override the ones you already have (time settable in admin cp)...
So I could set it to upload a mysql dump to my ISP webspace everynight at say 1am. It will keep four dumps on my ISP before It overrides the oldest one.
I hope that makes some sence :)
I found this script on the net: http://worldcommunity.com/opensource/utilities/mysql_backup.html
That really does everything that I need done (except uploading to a FTP which is on their "to-do list"). So yeah, it would be great if it was included in vB, but make it easer to change settings, you know make them just be able type the settings in admin cp.
I hope that makes some sence... lol
Thanks :)
