I've been dreaming about vBCMS again......

This time it is not about the news and article features as discussed in: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42556

Now, I've been dreaming about an option to add customized databases allowing registered users to enter data in multiple fields. The customized database should include a checkbox allowing the administrator to force automatically entered fields with username, pm, and e-mail address of the member entering the data. Basically this feature could be built the same way as the members list. The database should be sortable (alphabetic for each field in the database) and searchable.

A customized database like this would be great for any kind of community library (music, articles, books, recipes, links), inventory, marketplace etc. Yahoogroups has a simple version of such a database.

What do you think about this idea?

The vBCMS is one thing that I'm really really excited about. I'd even wait a few more months for vB3 if I could get my hands on the vBCMS. I can't use postNuke or any of the other Nuke variants, because it installs way too much of what I don't need.

And hey, Kier, if you need a beta-tester, I'm a good one. :)
