Just an FYI for everyone that might not know.. there have been some problems with Cisco routers (a CEF bug) throughout this morning with Verio/digitalNATION. I was having problems connecting to any of their servers from most of the locations I've tried. They are working on it, and right now it seems to be getting better, but I just wanted to let everyone know, in case you are wondering why you couldn't connect to vbulletin.com or other dN sites.

Of course, this situation may have been caused (or made worse) by the surge in net traffic today because of the close election :)

Yup I think they have it all fixed.... actually it was wierd because from some locations I could reach my server, but from most others I couldn't.

Hey Chris,

This is actually the third time this has happened in the past 9 months (I'm keeping a log) --

Unfortunately I don't think it is due to election coverage :)

One time, I couldn't reach my own site for 9 hours but I knew others could because I was receiving notifications!

Yes I have a remote monitoring service that I use that reports on my server's availablilty from 2 seperate locations. This is the first time since I've been with dN that I have noticed significant network downtime.

Yes it was similar for me this morning... I couldn't reach any sites (yours, mine, vb.com) from my local proxy server at work, but if I logged onto a public proxy, that was connecting just fine to all the sites.... I was even able to download my email from my server through hotmail, but couldn't log on directly....

It certainly seems like it was what they said, a router problem at the data center. Hopefully they will be a little more on top of this in the future :)

Chris, I used to have Verio as my colo provider. I used Mindspring for my home dialup internet connection.

Suddenly one day I couldn't reach my server at Verio anymore. I then used aol and it seemed fine. I used Netzero and other isps and they all connected fine.

Looked like it was just Mindspring in certain parts of my state.

Well anyways, I called both Verio and Mindspring and each just pointed fingers at each other. The problem went un-resolved for a WHOLE WEEK. I guess it was too small a pocket where service was being interrupted for them to get off their lazy asses and fix the damn thing!

So finally I just quit BOTH of them!!!
