I have posted a few times here tonight. In my profile I have told it to remember me...and yet, every time I have clicked to add a post...I have to log in again? Am I missing something? Why won't it auto fill in the space? (I'm new to this, can you tell? :-) :D

have you ever logged in initially? If you don't log in at least once from the main page, it won't remember you.

Nope, I went back and logged in on the main page...shows me logged in and yet, I came back here to test it on this reply and I still had to type in my name and password...?

What am I doing wrong?

do you have cookies enabled in your browser?

I have cookies enabled...I have a UBB that I have cookies that work there....

and it shows me logged in.....(on the bottom of the boards) but it is making me log in with each reply and post.

do you have any other kind of firewall or ad blocking software running that might make you authorize cookies?

What browser and version are you running?

I'm on netscape 4.6....and it works for UBB forums... :-(

this is truly weird...

I know this is gong to sound stupid, but it's the first rule of troubleshooting....

Have you checked in your profile to make sure the prefs are set to allow cookies?

I come here using IE 5.0, IE 5.5, NS 4.6 and NS 6.0 and I've never had that problem.

We have another thread somewhere here on this topic. It seems to happen sometimes to me and my girlfriend on multiple computers we have, but not always. I have to usually delete the cookie manually and then login again and it seems to fix it.

This is also not a problem at all with the latest stable release, and only seems to have became a problem with the beta version he is running.

Nope, just logged in on the main page, and now again to post this reply.

As for being on 4.6...would it matter that I'm on a Mac? (Don't throw stuff....its a very nice IMac and I'm very partial to it :D

I check out various UBB's around the net and this hasn't been a problem. Cookies in the right places....

John? Any ideas here?

I'm on IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.7, and I can definitely confirm there's a problem on this BB (1.1.2 beta). The problem doesn't exist on the 1.1.1 version though.

OK - I'll have a look at what changes I have made that might be affecting this. I'll get it sorted out.
