Is it possible to reserve user names? This is very important for me as I won't have to go and register 60 user names.

in the control panel - options you have a function to allow to ban members from registering certain usernames ...

The problem with that function is that it bans anything that includes the banned name. I want to be able to reserve lets say the names "fello, John, James. But I don't want to block someone from registering "john67".
I know in the censoring feature there is an option where you can put brackets {} around a word and it will only ban the word as it appears but not when its included within another word. Can I do the same thing when reserving user names?

No you can't do that but I do agree the function needs to be changed to work like the censor function does.

i see i didn't realised it worked that way...

Why not just make a series of table inserts commands in MySQLAdmin and insert the names you want to reserve into the user table?

Thanks so much wluke for taking your time to answer me. But you have to understand that I am a complete newbie to Forums and especially to Vbulltin. So please explain to me step by step what to do.

Very important, I think, it would be a function that doesn't accept username of removed members for a period of time. This just to avoid confusion between members and old.

Well if your a newbie, you don't really want to muck about to much in the database.

Do this.

In your control Panel turn on Multi-Registration.
Then register the names you want to reserve through the registration system... Time consuming yeah but hard to mess up your system as well.

Thanks Wluke!
BTW, does the email form, which users can fill out and send emails, go through my server or through theirs?

It goes through your server so the sendmail works.
